Welcome to the Colonie FUSRAP web site!
This web site was established to share information about the cleanup of the
Colonie FUSRAP Site with local community members. In addition to providing
information about the project, such as background and cleanup progress, there
are links to other agencies and organizations involved at the site and
information resources. Also provided is an electronic comment form for web site
visitors to complete and send to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The Colonie site, located near Albany, New York is being remediated by the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District. This effort is part of
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Formerly Utilized Sites
Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP). The objective of the Colonie
remediation effort is to clean up the radiologically and chemically
contaminated surface and subsurface soils and groundwater.

The Corps' Baltimore
District is providing hazardous, toxic, and radiological waste
technical design support for the project. Site remediation activities are
coordinated with the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency's Region II and the
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
